And a cast of many others Streamlined Process Reviews Include: Zoning Site Development Stormwater (July 1, 2014) Public Utilities Construction Documents Building Construction How Does it Work? 1.Developed a central permitting location 2.Committed to review times 3.Documented a clear and inclusive development review process & SOP 4.Improved communications between staff and the customers 1. Developed a Central Permitting Location Lobby in the old administration building Consolidated staff from all departments Renovated space to service customers Reassigned, Hired and trained personnel 2. Committed to Review Times Reviewed statutory requirements Zoning Ordinance required: Single family –10 days Commercial –60 days 3. Documented a clear & inclusive development review process & SOP Pre application Review Meetings Land Development Review Meetings Formalize process with Standard Operating Procedures 4. Improved communications between staff & customers Permit Technicians will track review progress and notify applicant of status Utilize existing software capabilities (Customer Self- Serve) to allow applicant to access project status Standardize technology across departments for electronic document submittal and review Eliminate paper and allow customers to do business with IOW without leaving their home or office What does the process look like? Applications are submitted to Central Permitting Permit Tech: reviews for completeness enters data into system distributes to the departments for review Departments: perform reviews communicate comments to the applicant as necessary approves documents What does the process look like? Digital Approval notifies Central Permitting Central Permitting Issues all permits and collects fees: Stormwater Zoning Building How does the Electronic Process work? The applicant submits all documents to planreview@iwus.net The permit technician receives a notification email that an application is pending Permit technician reviews the application for completeness enters the applications into Munis attaches documents to the project The departments are notified electronically they have a plan review pending. How does the Electronic Process work? The departments review and approve the project or enter review comments into the Munis project. When all documents are approved, the permit technician notifies the applicant and advises for payment of the permit fees at www.paybill.com/isleofwightcounty/permitspayment/card/ default.asp The permit technician receives a notification once fees are paid and forwards the approved documents to the applicant.
