Chairman Acree called the meeting to order at 9:00 a.m. for the purpose of
conducting the Board's annual retreat with the Planning Commission.
The Pledge of Allegiance was conducted followed by opening remarks of
Chairman Acree.
Amy Foster, Principal Environmental Planner, Virginia Department of
Environmental Quality, provided an overview on the Chesapeake Bay
Preservation Area regulations.
Following a 15 -minute break, County Attorney Jones and Amy Ring, Director of
Community Development, provided an overview of issues with Airbnbs.

The Board took a 15 -minute break followed by a refresher training by County
Attorney Jones on parliamentary procedures.
The Board recessed for lunch and return to open session at 12:30 p.m.
Ms. Ring provided information related to the development activity report and
streamlining efforts relative to the process of development review.

Don Jennings, Director of Utilities, provided an update on the Water and Sewer
Master Plan.
Chris Morello, Director of Economic Development, provided an overview of the
business Activity Report.

Following a break, Ms. Ring addressed that department's proposed work plan for
next year.
At 3:30 p.m., Chairman Acree declared the joint retreat adjourned.
