BOARD ROOM OF THE ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY COURTHOUSE ON THURSDAY, THE FOURTEENTH DAY OF JUNE, IN THE YEAR TWO THOUSAND AND EIGHTEEN PRESENT: William M. McCarty, Vice -Chairman, Newport District Don G. Rosie, ll, Carrsville District Joel C. Acree, Windsor District Richard L. Grice, Smithfield District ABSENT Rudolph Jefferson, Chairman, Hardy District ALSO IN ATTENDANCE: Mark C. Popovich, County Attorney Randy R. Keaton, County Administrator Donald T. Robertson, Assistant County Administrator Carey M. Storm, Clerk Vice -Chairman McCarty called the work session of the Board of Supervisors to order at 3:00 p.m. Supervisor Rosie delivered the invocation and led the Pledge of Allegiance to the American Flag. Malina Springer, Principal Planner, presented the public input results from the Comprehensive Plan Public Forum Series #2. Richard Rudnicki, Assistant Director of Planning and Zoning, provided a briefing on the mapping concept, the current draft maps and future steps related to the Comprehensive Plan process. The need for affordable housing in the County was discussed and staff offered to request the consultants to provide different scenarios in the upcoming fiscal impact analysis. The role of the Task Force was discussed responsive to frustration voiced on the part of the Task Force's members. 11 Michael Etheridge, Director of Solid Waste, presented a proposal to provide safety and increased security utilizing cameras at the County's refuse and recycling centers. Mr. Etheridge presented a proposal to provide construction debris disposal at the refuse and recycling centers. 11 At 5:00 p.m., the work session was adjourned.
