proposed Memoranda of Agreement with the Towns of Smithfield and

at its May 1, 2014 meelliingl. She briefed the Heard regarding the Eve (5)
primary goailsi used by staff in devellcipingl the budget necommendadlicins. She
acviiised tlhal a deficit) of $3.9 millicn is pnojectled in F A21014 and ai 57.9
million shortfall is pnojectled in FY2C 15. 'She concluded her presentaglion by

Beverly H. Wlallkup, Dlinecior of Planning and Zoning, reviewed neva
initiatives associaited withl ccimmuniityj develciflment, to include a new centrail
permitting function.
Ms. Sewaaid addressed 11he funds included in the hludglet for the
Bllaickwaiter Rleglicinail IJihlnaryl, Forl Bciykinsi aind Fcirt Blugler, ' lcurism aind the
eliminatlion cif 11he County's fl istloniic Rlesciurces Division.
Mark WI. Furlo, Director cf Parks aind Rlecneathicin, remiewed the Parks
and Recreation budget, now diviiided into three divisions in the prcrpcised plain,
which includes Administration, Parks aind Gicunds aind Recreation
Bnograimming.
Ms. Seward reviewed the proposed budged with regard W puHlic saifety
and judiciaill.

County Administrator Seward reviewed the County's papulation
growth; provided ai reglicval comparison of employees pen 1,000 citizens; a
real] estate tax rate compariscri; ai median househclld income; and, the
County's spending xl er purl il.
