Barlow Senator Richard J. Holland Senator Frederick M. Quayle Michelle Degnan, Democratic Candidate for the House of Delegates Chairman Bradby called the scheduled meeting of the Board of Supervisors with the State elected representatives for Isle of Wight County to order at 4:00 p.m. // Jonathan W. Hartley, Director of Planning and Zoning, provided a brief ..overview of the items contained in the Board's agenda which consisted of the regional transportation needs versus current revenues, the County's needs and current revenues, specific major projects, the County's projects and concerns, and overriding concerns. Supervisor Bradshaw expressed the Board's frustration with the lack of response from VDOT on maintaining primary and secondary roads, the cleaning of ditches and the response to citizens' concerns. Supervisor Bradshaw requested the Delegation's. assistance in securing funding for major road projects, improvement to dirt roads, and addressing the day-to-day needs of the County's citizens. ..Delegate Barlow suggested the County schedule a meeting between VDOT, a representative. from the Commonwealth Transportation Board (i.e., Max Porter) and the County's General Assembly delegation to further address the County's concerns. Donald T. Robertson, Assistant to the County AdministratorlDirector of Human Resources, presented the .County's proposed 1998 Legislative Priority 1 eoeK 17 ~~,:~~438 .List. He noted the Board's top priority is transportation funding for the realignmentlwidenng of Route 258 from Smithfield to Windsor. Regarding the issue of Control/Inspection of Waste Transported Through the County, Supervisor Bradshaw requested Mr. Robertson follow-up on the status of this legislation.
