SPECIAL MEETING OF THE ISLE OF WIGHT COUNTY.. BOARD OF
SUPERVISORS HELD THE 1'HIlZTIETH DAY OF JANUARY IN THE YEAR

Chairman Bradby called the joint meeting of the Board of Supervisors
and the School Board to order at 6:00 p.m. Reverend Johnson of the School
Board gave the invocation.

Pamela Edwards, School Board Chairman, presented cost-reducing
scenarios for the proposed new schools which would reduce the cost of the
proposed schools from $24,000,000 to approximately $18,000,000.
Following discussion, Chairman Bradby and Supervisor Spady stated
the School Board should complete a comprehensive study to help determine
an appropriate. site and if a consolidated high school could possibly serve
the needs of the County.
Supervisor Edwards moved the Board authorize the purchase of the •
Twin Ponds site. The motion was defeated (3-2) with Supervisor Bradshaw
and Edwards voting for the motion and Chairman Bradby and Supervisors
Cofer and Spady voting against the motion.

At 8:20 p.m., Supervisor Edwards moved the Board adjourn. The
motion passed unanimously (5-0).
